Throughout the covert investigation, investigators uncovered the modus operandi of the main suspects. According to suspicion, they operated an extensive network of fictitious companies and associations in Israel and abroad, through which they laundered money for local companies, alongside smuggling funds from abroad and introducing them into Israel. The method included receiving cash, issuing false invoices, and sophisticated concealment of funds through bank transfers, real estate voucher payments, and the use of family members’ bank accounts. Last week, investigators raided the homes of 16 suspects, and arrested some of them for joint investigation at the Jerusalem District Police and the Income Tax Investigations Officer. During the raid, dozens of assets were seized, which are suspected to have been acquired through fraud and funds obtained as a result of income omission. To date, dozens of involved parties have been investigated, who are suspected of having received and used the services of the suspects for the purpose of money laundering, income omission, and obtaining something by fraud. In accordance with the needs of the investigation, the arrest of two central suspects (48, 56, from Kiryat Ye’arim and Tel Aviv) was extended by the court.
