Crime

In the attack, Haim Klomiti z”l, a member of the Zur Natan emergency response team, was murdered, and several other civilians were injured. The attacker was neutralized by officers from the Tayibe station after a short pursuit. Following the attack, Ala’a El-Din Jaheim and Wiam Matarouh, Israeli citizens residing in Tayibe, and Muhammad Aptima, a resident of Baqa al-Gharbiyya, were arrested for investigation by the Sharon District Police and the Shin Bet, on suspicion of awareness and involvement in the attack. The investigation of Ala’a El-Din and Wiam revealed that they were aware of the attacker’s intentions to carry out an attack and did not prevent its occurrence. Additionally, the investigation yielded further details regarding the attacker’s conduct in the days preceding the attack. Furthermore, the investigation of Muhammad Aptima revealed that he was the one who supplied the Carlo weapon used by the attacker. Upon completion of the investigation of the suspects by the Sharon District Police and the Shin Bet, an indictment was filed today by the Central District Attorney’s Office with the Lod District Court.
