Jerusalem, 30 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — British activist Finn Joughin was arrested after being interrogated over an alleged assault of a minor in Umm al-Kheir, Israeli Police said, rejecting claims that he was abducted by Israeli residents of the Hebron Hills.
Police said Joughin was detained by the head of a security squad from a nearby Jewish community on suspicion of “committing an indecent act against a minor.” Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
Footage filmed by Israeli residents appears to show the incident occurred near Barkai, an unauthorized outpost of Ma’on. The footage showed him using his body to block a Jewish child attempting to cross a fence into Umm al-Kheir.
