Border Police arrested two suspects in Kfar Aqab who were using electric excavation tools to breach the security barrier into Israeli territory.

Jerusalem, 23 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Border Police officers in the Jerusalem Envelope arrested two suspects, residents of Kfar Aqab, on Saturday who attempted to breach the base of the security barrier using electric excavation tools to create a pedestrian crossing from Judea and Samaria into Israeli territory.

The suspects were spotted during operational activity along the “Seam Zone” sector in northern Jerusalem’s Kfar Aqab neighborhood, carving into the barrier’s base. Officers entered the area and caught the two by surprise. Following a short foot chase, the suspects were located and arrested inside a nearby residential building.

Officers seized the tools used, including a large drill and long power extension cords.
