Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Shares of Epitomee Medical, the Israeli biomed company behind an FDA-approved, ingestible weight-loss capsule, jumped 15% Monday on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, bringing its three-day gain to over 110%, despite no new company disclosures.

The rally follows the recent appointment of Dolev Rafaeli as CEO. Rafaeli, a turnaround specialist previously tied to medical device firm PhotoMedex, sees Epitomee’s problem in its distribution channels.

The company, whose valuation peaked near $270 million after a 2021 Nestlé marketing deal before the food giant withdrew in 2023, has since lost roughly 90% of that value.

Rafaeli said he aims to sign 20,000–30,000 new U.S. users, generating about $50 million in sales, by shifting to direct-to-consumer marketing via a new app.

The capsule, which mimics fullness by expanding in the stomach, already retails in Israel at pharmacies for 890 shekels ($291.5).
