Jerusalem, 22 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli renewable-energy company Solaer has signed a $65 million financing agreement to build its first wind-power project in Chile, marking another step in the company’s expansion in the South American country.
The Calbuco project, located south of Puerto Montt, will have generating capacity of about 47 megawatts, alongside an energy-storage system of roughly 80 megawatt-hours.
Solaer holds 47% of the project. Construction is underway, with grid connection planned for 2027. The company has also secured an 11-year power purchase agreement for electricity generated by the facility.
Solaer estimates the project will generate annual revenue of about $14 million and Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) of roughly $11 million.
Chile has become a major expansion hub for Solaer, which is also developing solar, desalination, and data-center projects in the country. The company is controlled by husband-and-wife team Paula and Alon Segev, who serve as its co-CEOs.
